Berkshire Bank to fund Teen Leadership Training at Berkshire South

Great Barrington, MA – Berkshire South Regional Community Center is very pleased to announce a $5,000 contribution from Berkshire Bank Foundation in support of the Center’s Teen Leadership Training (TLT). This is the second year that the Foundation has sponsored this exciting program.

In its third year as a summer based program, Teen Leadership Training involves three weeks of experiential learning for youth ages 13-15. Through outdoor activities such as ropes course, hiking and canoeing, TLT develops leadership, decision-making and team-building skills. Other components of TLT are financial literacy, career education and college preparation activities that help youth focus on their post-high school plans. TLT is comprised of both a basic or CORE level, and an ADVANCED level. Each level is offered multiple times throughout the summer. TLT is just one of the numerous programs in Berkshire South’s unique Youth Intervention/Prevention Curriculum which works with youth in our community.

With underwriting support from Berkshire Bank Foundation and Berkshire United Way, Berkshire South is able to offer Teen Leadership Training at a cost of just $15 per participant. As part of its commitment to improving the quality of life in the community, Berkshire Bank has historically supported a number of health and wellness programs at Berkshire South.

For more information about the Teen Leadership Training program or the Youth Intervention/Prevention Curriculum, please call (413) 528-2810 ext. 30 or go to www.berkshiresouth.org. We hope your teen will join us for a fun summer of learning and growing!
