New Board Chair for Berkshire South Regional Community Center

Great Barrington, MA – Ethel Patterson has become the new Board Chair for Berkshire South Regional Community Center. Robert Harrison has assumed the position of Co-Vice Chair alongside Melissa Beeson Higgins.

Ethel Patterson has been a board member for Berkshire South since 2011. Her professional background is in Corporate and Investment Banking. She spent over 20 years in the banking industry in NYC and Toronto.

She has served on the Board of the West Side YMCA in New York City for many years where she held a variety of positions including Board Chair. Ms. Patterson has also been on the Board of the Lincoln Square Business Improvement District (BID) in NYC, and is an active fundraiser for her college alma mater.. Her primary areas of interest and experience are in Fund Development, both capital and operating, and Board Development.

Robert Harrison joined the board at Berkshire South in 2012. Mr. Harrison is a registered architect in Massachusetts and holds architectural licenses in Vermont, Connecticut and New York. He has been a LEED Accredited Professional since 2004, the first in Berkshire County, and holds dual degrees in architecture and fine arts from the Rhode Island School of Design.

Prior to establishing Harrison Design Associates in 2005, an award-winning architectural design firm in Great Barrington, he was the founding principal architect of Blueline Design in Great Barrington from 1991 to 2005.

Mr. Harrison is currently a board member for WordxWord Festival in Pittsfield, MA as well as holding City Commissioner – Green Commission in Pittsfield.  He has also held board positions for Girls Inc., Berkshire County Historical Society, Berkshire Wildlife Sanctuaries and was a founding board member of the Colonial Theatre Association.

Former Chairman of the Board, Adam Hersch has stepped down, but continues to be an active member of the board of trustees.
