Lee Bank Awards $1,500 to Support Day Camp at Berkshire South

Great Barrington, MA – Berkshire South Regional Community Center has received an award of $1,500 from Lee Bank to support field trip experiences for this summer’s Action Adventure Day Camp. Thanks to Lee Bank’s 2nd year of support, Berkshire South will be able to provide an extra-memorable summer for area youth through fun and educational field trips such as the Berkshire Museum, Lake Mansfield Picnic Day, and the Lupa Zoo.

More than just a fun excursion or a break from the daily routine, field trips play a key role in reinforcing learning by creating connections between new information and real-life experiences. Field trips can also stimulate a child to become interested in or try new things that they may have never been exposed to before. This can be especially important for disadvantaged children living in our community. Since 2013, Berkshire South has partnered with the Department of Children and Families to provide a summer camp experience to children in their care.
