January, 2014 – Great Barrington, MA – The Robbins – de Beaumont Foundation has awarded a $30,000 grant to Berkshire South Regional Community Center (BSRCC) to support the position of the Coordinator for their Youth Intervention/Prevention Curriculum (YIPC). Robbins de-Beaumont is a longtime supporter of the Center helping to establish a unique and popular youth curriculum.
Berkshire South is committed to providing opportunities for all youth in our community to have access to activities that emphasize leadership, self-development, and life skills. BSRCC’s Youth Intervention/Prevention Curriculum (YIPC) offers area youth a fun, comfortable, empowering place to spend their time before and after school, on the weekends, and during school holidays. For parents, Berkshire South represents a safe, affordable, enriching option for their middle and high school youth. From a community perspective, Berkshire South’s commitment to youth development is an investment in its future residents and leaders.
The YIPC Coordinator is a critical position that holds responsibility for the development, implementation, management and evaluation of intervention and prevention-based programming within the Center and as a resource for the community at large. In the community, the YIPC Coordinator plays an important role as an ambassador for the Center and its youth programming, and is the leader of the Center’s community-wide anti-bullying initiative. The YIPC Coordinator takes part in parent-community forums on topics such as early school leaving, health and wellness, substance abuse, bullying, and others. To learn about BSRCC’s Youth Intervention/Prevention Curriculum please contact Stephanie Dolson, the Youth Intervention/Prevention Coordinator at 528-2810 ext. 30.
