There’s an adventure every day for children age 5 through 14 during the summer at Berkshire South!  We offer our campers a variety of age appropriate activities, weekly field trips, and special events to make their summer unforgettable. Campers will be able to take advantage of our facilities including our playground, fields, air conditioned gym, arts & crafts room, hiking trails, and the indoor pool. The fun starts at 8am and ends at 6pm every day!

Field trips are related to the week’s theme and include: Art Museums, Butterfly Conservatory, Historical Sites, Wildlife Conservation Areas, BerkCirque, High Ropes courses and more!

Action Adventures Day Camp is proud to be a peanut, tree nut free program and that can also accommodate other food allergies.

Action Adventures Day Camp is licensed by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health. All program staff are certified in CPR and First Aid and undergo a CORI and SORI background record check.

Summer 2018 Themes


The Great Outdoors  June 25-29                                                                            Join us on a daytime camping trip as we explore the many wonderful gifts of nature. Build a campsite in the woods while we learn about local mammals, insects and plants.  Share your favorite camp stories and songs.

Red, White and You  July 2-3, July 5-6 (4 day week)                                        Celebrate our nation’s birthday and celebrate you.  We will explore the many heritages that make up our great nation.   Find the wonderful things that make us different and most importantly what makes us similar.

Champions of the Planet  July 9-13                                                                       Become a champion of the planet.  What one thing can you do each day to help save the planet earth?  Explore the world of recycling including finding ways to use items that would ordinarily be discarded, turning them in to toys, sculptures and even a cardboard town.  

Young Scientists  July 16-20                                                                                     Here is your chance to be a scientist!  Discover different forms of science from icky sticky fun to the stars in the sky.  You’ll get answers to questions like how do things inflate? What properties of water make a ship float? We will create experiments that will amaze you.  

The Circus is in Town  July 23-27                                                                            Join us under the big top.  Feel the magic up close. Can you perform a circus act?  This week will end with a performance of Action Adventures Summer Circus.

Travel through Time and Space  July 30-August 3                                                Have you ever wondered what it was like to live in a different century and in another country?  Discover what life was like when we didn’t have phones, computers, and advanced technology. Pack your bags for a trip of a lifetime.  

Uncover your Hidden Talents August 6-10                                                              Do you have a secret talent you want to share?  There is an actor, singer and dancer in all of us. Turn a dream into reality while we explore the world of performing arts and find you own unique talent.

Symphony of the Senses  August 13-17                                                                     Sight, Smell, Taste, Touch, and Hearing. Learn what life would be like without one of your five senses.   Investigate the mysterious inner workings of the marvelous human body.

Action Adventures Olympic Games  August 20-24                                                   The Olympics are a celebration of friendship, unity and peace. Learn about the history and accomplishments of famous Olympians.  We will highlight the athlete in everyone and bring home the gold.
