Community Thanks Supper Take-out

FREE Thanksgiving meal prepared by local chefs and volunteersBerkshire South is now taking reservations for our Free Community Thanksgiving Supper Take-Out meal. Offered the Tuesday before Thanksgiving, November 24, this traditional Thanksgiving meal is available through reservation. The meal is FREE to the community.  Reservations for meals will be available on a first come, first served basis.  

Meals can be requested for delivery for those who are homebound, or for drive-through pick-up in the Berkshire South parking lot at either 3 p.m., 4 p.m., or 5 p.m. on November 24.  All meals will be provided cold with instructions for reheating.

On the menu for this delicious meal (prepared by local volunteers and chefs) is turkey with gravy, root veggie hash with roasted butternut squash, mashed potatoes, stuffing, broccoli and cheddar gratin, cranberry sauce, pumpkin pie, and bread with butter. 

RESERVATIONS ARE FULL for this year.   

Though this meal is free to all, if you would like to make a gift to support your community center’s efforts to meet the needs of those who need a little extra help now, please do so here.

PAUSED FOR NOW DUE TO COVID Berkshire Ukulele Band (BUB)

Tuesdays, 6:30-8 p.m.  
Ages 13 and up. Multi-instrumentalist, teacher and performer Rob Sanzone will teach ukulele technique, chord progressions and songs from many musical genres. A limited number of ukuleles are available for loan to participants who do not have an instrument. Beginners are encouraged, reading music is not required. Music and chord charts will be provided. Opportunities to perform at community events will be offered. Registration requested. Drop-ins are encouraged, but call ahead – group occasionally performs off-site during regular class times.
$4 suggested donation. Open to members and guests.

Recommended donation $4 per session. There will be no BUB on 11/21 or 12/25.

For over three years, Berkshire Sings! and Berkshire Ukulele Band have been spreading the joy of music in southern Berkshire County. We are pleased to offer them to the general public for free admission through the generous support of our donors. Tax-deductible contributions to these programs are gladly accepted.

Community Suppers

Mondays Serving 5- 6 p.m.
Join us for a delicious meal prepared by some of the finest chefs in the Berkshires. This meal is open to all in our community! With the hope to set the platform for connection and nourishment, we hope you will join us to greet your neighbors and meet new friends. Donations are gratefully accepted. Get those steps in! This self-guided club will meet at the Community Center for weekly walks in our neighborhood. All routes are designed to start and end at Berkshire South. A Walking Guide brochure with route maps, difficulty rating and distance are available at the front desk. Please bring your water but leave your pets at home. All ages welcome. FREE

Tommy Lee, Community Thanks Supper chef for the thirteenth year on November 24, said that the Community Supper program as a whole has “given me a home at Berkshire South, a sense of belonging, and honestly, a greater community.”
