Meet our 2023 Swim-A-Thon Ambassadors:
Tyler, Matt, and Eric, Team Oak Lodge.

Swim-A-Thon ambassadors Tyler, Matt, and Eric in the pool

Tyler, Matt and Eric visited the studio at WSBS radio station to talk about the Swim-A-Thon with BSRCC’s Executive Director Jenise Lucey and Jesse Stewart, host of Let’s Talk.

We asked Tyler, Matt and Eric some questions about swimming and the Swim-a-thon. Here’s what they had to say:

What do you like about swimming?

Matt: I like competing in the Special Olympics [The Red Raiders Special Olympics Swim Team is based at Berkshire South].

Tyler: I like the kicking.

Eric: Swimming helps you exercise; [it’s] good for you.
Why do you participate in the Swim-A-Thon?

Matt: To make money for Berkshire South!

Tyler: Because I’m going to raise money for Berkshire South.

Eric:. Help raise money for them [for] swimming class.

How It Works

Anyone who would like to participate in the Swim-A-Thon is welcome and encouraged to join us. We will offer ONE water-based class as a substitute for lap swimming: Sunday, April 2, at 10am

Swimmers of all abilities are welcome to swim individually or as part of a relay team. Relay teams and individuals have up to two hours to swim up to 200 lengths of the pool. You do NOT have to use the full time or swim 200 lengths!

Relay teams generally include up to four people, though exceptions can be made for larger teams. Team members may swim individually or share a lane.

What To Bring

  • Swimsuit and Towel
  • Goggles and Swim cap (optional)
  • Bottle of Water (no glass bottles please)
