Full Time Positions

Director of Development

The Director of Development is a senior leadership role responsible for planning, implementing, and overseeing all fundraising, communications, and outreach activities to support the mission and vision of Berkshire South Regional Community Center (BSRCC). The Director will lead a comprehensive fundraising program through the guidance of staff and volunteers while fostering a culture of philanthropy throughout the organization. This individual will also provide strategic oversight of the organization’s communication and outreach efforts to ensure consistent and effective messaging to all stakeholders.

Fundraising & Development Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy to support organizational and project needs.
  • Foster a culture of philanthropy, ensuring a donor-centered approach through cultivation, stewardship, and strategic communications.
  • Plan and manage all fundraising campaigns, including annual appeals, capital campaigns, planned giving, and special events.
  • Oversee the financial operations of fundraising efforts, including budgeting, reporting, reconciliation, and compliance.
  • Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward major donors, corporate sponsors, and foundations while empowering staff, board, and volunteers to do the same.
  • Lead grant proposal development, submission tracking, and reporting requirements.
  • Maintain and oversee donor and prospect records, gift management systems, and research efforts.
  • Build and sustain strong donor relationships to ensure engagement and retention.
  • Collaborate with the Board of Trustees and Development Committees to support fundraising initiatives and provide regular progress updates.
  • Coordinate calendars, marketing materials, and logistics for fundraising events and appeals.
  • Establish donor recognition and acknowledgment programs.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulations, ethical fundraising standards, and internal policies.
  • Stay informed of trends in philanthropy, nonprofit management, and fundraising best practices.
  • Represent the organization, board, and executive leadership to donors, prospects, and key stakeholders.

Communications and Outreach:

  • Develop and oversee a comprehensive communications strategy that supports fundraising goals and increases community awareness of BSRCC programs and services.
  • Ensure consistent and compelling messaging across all marketing channels, including newsletters, press releases, social media, website, and promotional materials.
  • Serve as the organization’s primary spokesperson in collaboration with the Executive Director, representing BSRCC at community events and public engagements.
  • Oversee the creation of impactful storytelling and donor recognition initiatives to highlight the organization’s impact.

Leadership and Collaboration:

  • Supervise and mentor the development and communications team, fostering professional growth and ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Collaborate with program staff to identify funding needs and opportunities, ensuring alignment between development efforts and program priorities.
  • Maintain accurate records of donor and prospect information within the donor management system and ensure compliance with data privacy regulations.
  • Prepare and present detailed reports on fundraising activities and outcomes to the Executive Director and appropriate committee(s).

Senior Management Responsibilities

  • Serve as a key member of the senior management team, ensuring organizational health and effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with the executive director, staff, and board to define and uphold the organization’s values, mission, and vision.
  • Provide input on strategic and operational planning, addressing organizational development challenges and opportunities, particularly in fund development.
  • Act as an ambassador, fostering community relationships and identifying potential board candidates.
  • Oversee administrative duties, including budget management, reporting, policy development, and strategic planning.
  • Take on additional responsibilities as assigned by the Executive Director.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, communications, marketing, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
  • At least 5 years of fundraising or development experience with a proven track record of success.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and inspire diverse stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, including grant writing and public speaking.
  • Experience in strategic planning, staff management, and handling multiple priorities.
  • Demonstrated ability in public relations, event planning and relationship management
  • Proficiency in donor management software, digital marketing tools, and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, database management).
  • Passion for BSRCC’s mission and commitment to community engagement.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse individuals and balance multiple needs

Seasonal Positions

Head Counselor

Head Counselors will actively assist the Director with program planning, camper management, and day-to-day camp logistics. They will also work with a large group of campers to provide a fun, safe, inclusive, and exciting camp experience while supervising a team of counselors in a supportive manner. Must be available from 8:00am-5:00pm from June 16 through August 22.

Other Head Counselor Responsibilities

  • Greet families and campers upon arrival and orientate them to camp
  • Establish rules with campers and staff and review emergency procedures
  • Manage parent expectations and converse with parents at pick-up and drop-off times
  • Assist the Director in managing any non-staff issues that may arise including camper behavior issues, parent complaints, etc.

SUMMER Day Camp Counselor

Counselors will lead many activities, including arts and crafts, athletics, group games, and more. Applicants must be at least 16 years old and able to communicate with children ages 5-14 of differing skill levels. Counselors must be available to work from 8:00am-5:00pm from June 16th through August 22nd.

Part Time Positions

Out of School Staff

Our Action Adventures After School & Out of School program supports families and their children with enrichment activities and learning opportunities after the normal school day. We are looking for staff to work with our Kindergarten – 14 year old students as they  transition from school to home. Care is offered until pick up at 5:30PM, Monday through Friday. You will help lead students in a variety of activities such as: art/crafts, swimming, reading, homework completion and other fun activities. This part-time position will include school closure days, vacation weeks and half days. The ideal candidate will also be able to work through the summer months as a camp counselor.

LIFEGUARDS

Part-time positions open for multiple shifts at Berkshire South Aquatics Center. We are also HIRING SUMMER 2025 LIFEGUARDS for our pool and waterfront locations.*

 

Individuals will provide close supervision of swimmers, rescue swimmers who are in danger, administer first aid, rescue breathing or CPR as needed. Responsible for enforcing all pool rules and waterfront regulations and for preparing and maintaining a safe, clean environment as part of duties. Individuals will support upkeep tasks in the pool, conduct water tests of pools, and attend all staff training sessions. Guards will be expected to work indoor shifts in addition to outdoors, if the option is available. Potential for long-term employment based on availability. Shifts available from 4-30 hours per week. 

Applicants Must:

  • have a current lifeguard and CPR/AED and First Aid certification (or willing to take one of our courses – full reimbursement opportunity available)
  • 15+ years old 

Pay ranges from $17-$20 per hour. EOE
