All gifts received by December 31, 2024 will be matched up to $40,000! Will you help us make the MOST of this opportunity?
Your gift to Berkshire South is a way to signify what matters most to you. Perhaps that’s creating access to the programs that are meaningful to you. Our financial assistance program ensures that those who can’t afford to become members or utilize our services are more easily able to do so. Your donation helps us make sure that health and wellness aren’t limited to people within a particular income bracket.
Maybe you care about strengthening early childhood education or ensuring affordable after-school care for working parents. Berkshire South’s accredited out-of-school and preschool programs are underwritten by gifts to our annual fund. The actual costs of running the program are far greater than what we could reasonably charge for tuition. Your contribution allows us to meet the educational needs of a greater swath of our youngest community members and we are all stronger for it.
Is it the well-being of the young people in our community that you care most about? Your gift today enables us to run our FREE Teen Wellness program called TONE. TONE offers a significant opportunity for our trained staff to positively influence the behaviors and decisions that impact the health and wellness of our community’s youth during their teenage years, establishing a strong foundation for their continued wellbeing as they grow toward adulthood.
Over 400,000 people walk through our doors each year, and without added financial support, those doors could close. Will you please make a gift to help our work carry on?
Or, maybe your interest lies in helping those who could use some assistance getting by, day-to-day. Our free Community Suppers do just that, combatting the ever-growing issue of food insecurity by offering a free, home-cooked, healthy meal every other Monday night to whomever comes through our doors. But the suppers are so much more than that! The Community Suppers illustrate our mission come to life in that they build community connections. People from all walks of life show up for the meals, from older people on a fixed income or for whom cooking for one is an onerous task, to busy families with young children who welcome a night off cooking. The meals are one of the most beloved programs at Berkshire South and we’re grateful to you for making them possible.
You may know that Berkshire South offers specialized aquatics programs for people with disabilities or for those who are recovering from injury. As I’m sure you can imagine, however, it costs a huge sum of money every year to operate our aquatics program and your gift to the Center helps to maintain the facility and keep the cost of programming as low as possible. Your gift means that the people who would most gain from the therapeutic benefits of water-based exercise are able to participate.
Of course, undergirding all of this programming is perhaps the most important thing that we do: building community and creating a sense of belonging. I think you’d be hard-pressed to find anywhere else in the southern Berkshires where such a diverse group of people feel not just welcome, but at home. We really mean it when we say that you belong here.
We encourage you to specify that your gift be directed to any of the programs noted above if you feel strongly about one of them. Otherwise, annual fund gifts are used wherever they’re needed most. Either way, your contribution is definitely needed and deeply appreciated. Doing all of the things that we do comes with a high price tag. We are sincerely grateful to you for making it all possible.
