The events of the last weeks have left our nation and our community reeling. Though history teaches us that the fight against racial injustice has been a long and difficult one, we feel this moment acutely.

As an organization that serves every member of the community, it’s important that Berkshire South is explicit in speaking out against racism in all its forms.  We stand with the Black community in the fight for equality, and pledge to work together to end systems of oppression and injustice.  This work begins by listening, by educating ourselves, by remaining open to experiences that are dissimilar to our own, and by using our voices to challenge instances of racism that we witness.

UPDATED NOTICE: Center Closure

Dear Friends of Berkshire South,

Berkshire South Regional Community Center will be closed until further notice. We will be able to open only as permitted by the MA Governor’s Phased Reopening plan for our industry.  We are currently making plans for how we will reopen the Community Center facility keeping in mind the safety and wellness of each of you.  Please be prepared for a gradual reopening of services and spaces to ensure the greatest degree of protection for our community. 

Membership Status: The Center is prepared to freeze memberships during this time. However, due to financial hardship that this situation is causing, we are doing so only by request. If you can consider continuing your membership during the closure, we would be deeply appreciative. To freeze your membership, please email If you would like a donation receipt for the amount of membership that you have “donated” to the Center during this time, please let us know.

Your Help Is Needed: Like many other small businesses and nonprofits, we are worried about the future of the Center. We have no income during this closure, though our expenses remain. Please consider making a gift to sustain us during this difficult time using the link on the right. Other ways that you can help buying a Berkshire South gift certificate or a Berkshire South t-shirt, or by becoming a Champion Member now by renewing your membership early or purchasing a new membership today. We are so very grateful to all of you who have reached out to us to learn how you might help.

The Community Center is a nonprofit entity offering a large array of programs servicing people of all ages. We continue to meet the needs of all and strive to be a location where people are linked with opportunity and local resources. From the senior citizen who builds a friendship in the water therapy class, to the family sharing a meal with others at a Community Supper, we are the Center by which they connect, encouraging all to build a sense of community and common purpose.

BSRCC reserves the right to close the building early for Staff Development events and our annual facility maintenance. Notices will be posted throughout the building as well as on the website approximately one week prior to each event. BSRCC will not issue membership reimbursement due to early closures for special events, acts of nature or annual facilities maintenance.

Please note: The Fitness Center and Gymnasium close 15 minutes earlier than the building. The Aquatics Center closes 30 minutes earlier than the building.
