Partners

Through the support of our members and the generosity of our donors, Berkshire South Regional Community Center is able to expand and enrich our resources and program scope through partnership with a significant number of Southern Berkshire organizations. Below are some of the collaborative programs the Center offers. If you have questions about any of the programs listed below, we encourage you to call the partner organization directly.

Alford, Great Barrington, Egremont (AGE) Triad

Berkshire South actively participates in this organization which seeks to address issues of concern to seniors, especially senior safety.

Berkshire South hosts swim lessons offered as noncredit workshops through BCC in six-week sessions.

Providing an interdisciplinary, cooperative approach, Kids’ Place provides on-site counseling services at Berkshire South to help support area children and non-offending family members recovering as victims or as witnesses to traumatic events. 

Through funding from the Prevention and Wellness Trust Fund, a community health worker is based at the Center to support the community’s health through programs in smoking cessation, diabetes education, falls prevention, and hypertension education.

BSRCC collaborates with BHRSD for Project Connection (elementary and middle schools) to provide enriching after school experiences for students within BHRSD. We also partner in BHRSD’s Parent Mentor Program and Monument Valley Middle School’s Peer Mentor Program

Fridays, 10 a.m.-12 p.m. For children up to 3 years old accompanied by an adult. Come enjoy a splish-splash in the Splash Pool and a romp in the gym. This program is brought to you through the collaborative efforts of BSRCC and Community Health Programs. Program operates on the school year schedule; no Skip & Dip during school holidays or vacations.

Community Access to the Arts, (CATA) is a nonprofit arts organization that has provided more than 1000 visual and performing arts workshops for hundreds of individuals with physical and/or developmental disabilities. 

Girl Scout and Boy Scout Badge Opportunities

The Center is proud to be a host location for badge acquisition opportunities for the Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts of America. Earn your badge in swimming, first aid, dance, health and fitness, science and much more! Please call for more details at 413.528.2810 ext. 32

Fairview Hospital’s Aquatic Therapy

The aquatic therapy program meets two mornings a week for one hour in a group setting at the pool at BSRCC. It is staffed by therapists and assistants who are trained by Aquatic Physical Therapy Resources, Inc. Patients can be evaluated at Fairview Hospital Rehabilitation Department in Great Barrington or Fairview Physical and Sports Therapy in Lee.

Berkshire South offers community service opportunities for court appointed hours. Individuals can fulfill their responsibility in an enriching environment while giving back in meaningful ways. Please call for more details at 413.528.2810 ext. 32

Berkshire South has partnered with Flying Deer Nature Center on the NEW Community Learning in the Berkshires (CLuB) Program. Flying Deer Nature Center is a wilderness school and community dedicated to mentoring children, adults, and families in deep connection to nature, self, and others.

Berkshire South has partnered with Flying Cloud Institute on the NEW Community Learning in the Berkshires (CLuB) Program. The mission of Flying Cloud Institute is to inspire young people and educators through dynamic science and art experiences that ignite creativity.

Berkshire South is an active member of GB Trails and Greenways, which provides guide assistance with the Center’s free hikes. GB trails further supports the Center by maintaining the Threemile Hill trail located on Berkshire South’s Property.

Berkshire South has partnered with Greenagers on the NEW Community Learning in the Berkshires (CLuB) Program. Greenagers, engages teens and young adults in meaningful work in environmental conservation, sustainable farming and natural resource management.

Service is at the heart of every Kiwanis International club, no matter where in the world it’s located. Kiwanis Club of Sheffield works with Berkshire South on projects that serve the community such as the Back to School Supply Drive.

Berkshire South is proud to serve as a food collection site for the Peoples Pantry. The Pantry offers a wide selection of foods including shelf stable items such as pasta, rice, and cereal, canned fruits and vegetables, peanut butter, tuna fish and toiletries. Frozen meats and fish, fresh fruits and vegetables, breads, milk and cheese, are also available.

Berkshire South is proud to serve as a host site for the Berkshire United Way VITA program which provides free income tax preparation to qualifying individuals and families. Call 413.442.6948

Berkshire South is proud to partner with the Massachusetts Special Olympics by hosting the Red Raiders Swim Team for practices and local competitions.

Berkshire South has partnered with VIM on the NEW Community Learning in the Berkshires (CLuB) Program. VIM is a health care center that treats patients with chronic illness as well as those in need of acute, life-saving procedures. VIM negotiates world medical class care at no cost, including transportation to leading hospitals.

Wednesdays, 5 p.m. & Thursdays, 10 a.m. Thinking about how you can lose and maintain weight in a healthy and long term way? Attend a Weight Watchers meeting and get guidance and support from your peers who have become healthier on the Weight Watchers system.

Berkshire South has partnered with CONSTRUCT Inc. by allowing qualifying individuals a “fast track” option to Berkshire South’s generous scholarship program. Recipients of this scholarship are awarded a six-month membership at a 75 percent discount. Vouchers can be obtained through CONSTRUCT directly. 

Berkshire South is happy to offer graduates of the Fairview Hospital Cardiac Rehab Program discounts on six month and annual memberships to be able to continue on their road to recovery. Coupons are given by the Rehab Program after a successful completion of the program. 

BHS/Canyon Ranch Institute Life Enhancement Program

Berkshire South has partnered with Berkshire Health Systems and the Canyon Ranch Institute to help provide a life-changing lifestyle improvement program for the underserved in our community.

Southern Berkshire Community Health Coalition

South Berkshire Community Health Coalition consists of a wide range of organizations, schools, businesses and individuals working to develop a strategic plan for a community-wide approach to reducing risk factors and enhancing protective factors that reduce the high rates of alcohol and drug use among South County teens.

The mission of Rural Health Network is to develop and sustain an adaptive network of community service providers that works to improve the health and well-being of individuals and families in the South Berkshire community.
