Full Time Positions

Facilities & Grounds Manager

Seeking full-time experienced facilities professional to help support building operations. Schedule will be generally Monday-Friday 12:30-9:30 p.m. and with varied hours (including weekends) occasionally. This is a hands-on position that includes shift/staff management, custodial duties, detailed operational set-ups and break-downs of equipment, pool operations, grounds care, and project-based work including painting, cleaning and light carpentry. Three years of experience preferred.

Must have reliable transportation and be able to lift 50lbs, push, pull and operate simple machinery, work with minimal supervision, and be professional & reliable. Individual will be expected to act at Manager on Duty and will support response to emergency and customer service situations as needed. General knowledge in plumbing, computer, electrical, carpentry and machinery preferred. Only serious applicants with a long term need apply.

Fitness Manager

Come and join us as our new Fitness Manager. You will fill a key position for our community center overseeing all wellness related operations in the Fitzpatrick Fitness Center, the Beinecke Gymnasium, all group exercise classes and recreational management of local park programming seasonally. A minimum of 3-5 years’ experience as a manager and the same in the field of physical fitness. We need a manager who is an outstanding leader and views great customer service as a valuable asset.

Sunshine Preschool Teacher or Lead Teacher

Sunshine Preschool is seeking a year-round full-time preschool teacher for children ages two years and nine months to five years old. The teacher’s primary responsibility is to provide a developmentally appropriate, high quality early childhood experience for the children enrolled in Sunshine Preschool. Candidates must be 21+ or have their high school diploma. Lead Teacher applicants must have prior preschool-age work experience. 

 

The candidate must demonstrate advanced understanding of the growth and development of children and must use knowledge of the value of family engagement to support families and children. Ability to work with a team to meet the individual needs of the children is essential.

Seeking a motivated and qualified individual to manage marketing and communications for our robust non-profit community center. Aquatics Manager

Membership Supervisor

Berkshire South is seeking a Membership Supervisor to join our dynamic team! This individual will need to provide professional level support to the Front desk team and The Director of Community Outreach and Operations. This position requires strong customer service skills, keen attention to detail, superior time management, a flexible schedule, and a focus on collaborative success for the Center as a whole. 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • 10-20 dedicated hours working at the Front Desk

GRAPHIC DESIGNER

PART TIME POSITION

We are looking for a Graphic Designer for the Marketing Department at BSRCC that has experience and training in graphic design, sweats the details, and more importantly, they enjoy working with others across all levels of a team and can communicate well to help solve design and production issues. Your role will be not only creating the graphics but maintaining a deliverables workflow across multiple channels.

Qualifications include:

  • Attention to detail and impeccable organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at once and meet deadlines
  • Skilled in industry standard software (Adobe Creative Suite, Google Workspace, Social Media)
  • Understanding of color theory and its application in both print and digital production

Out of School Staff

Our Action Adventures After School & Out of School program supports families and their children with enrichment activities and learning opportunities after the normal school day. We are looking for staff to work with our Kindergarten – 14 year old students as they  transition from school to home. Care is offered until pick up at 5:30PM, Monday through Friday. You will help lead students in a variety of activities such as: art/crafts, swimming, reading, homework completion and other fun activities. This part-time position will include school closure days, vacation weeks and half days. The ideal candidate will also be able to work through the summer months as a camp counselor.

Certified Group Fitness Instructor

Seeking a certified group fitness instructor and wellness enthusiast to serve as the lead coach/instructor of our Get Fit self-wellness challenge program running January 9th – March 16th.  The program will meet two times per week for 1.5 hours on Saturday mornings from 7:30 am-9 am and Tuesday evenings 5:30 pm-7 pm. The ideal instructor will have a multifaceted ability to lead a variety of fitness classes, be knowledgeable about whole-body wellness, and serve as a source of motivation and inspiration for the group. Additional opportunities for added fitness classes and personal training sessions are possible.

This Position Involves:

  • Leading fitness classes in various disciplines such as yoga, dance, Pilates, CrossFit, kickboxing, etc.
  • Developing and implementing exercise programs tailored to the needs and goals of individual clients.

Custodian/Maintenance

Seeking a part-time custodian to assist in daily building cleaning duties. This hands-on position primarily includes cleaning of program spaces, event rooms, lobby, locker rooms, and showers. Position may also include room set-ups, break downs, landscaping, and shoveling as needed based on season.

LIFEGUARDS

Part time positions open for multiple shifts. Weekend availability particularly desirable. Long-term and seasonal work available for indoor and outdoor positions.

 

Lifeguards will provide close supervision of swimmers, rescue swimmers who are in danger, and administer first aid, rescue breathing or CPR as needed. Responsible for enforcing all pool rules and regulations and for preparing and maintaining a safe, clean environment. Lifeguards will support upkeep tasks in the pool area, conduct water tests of pools, and attend all staff training sessions.

Berkshire South seeks seasonal park staff to oversee local waterfronts and parks. Staff will help maintain a safe and family-friendly environment at local parks, enforce all rules, engage park attendees/youth in activities and effectively manage incidents/problems with patrons.

Temporary Preschool Lead Teacher

Sunshine Preschool is seeking a temporary full-time licensed lead teacher for a full day program serving children ages 2 yrs & 9 mo – 5 yrs old. Position is expected to be approximately 8-10 weeks with an immediate start date, pending verification of licensure. Program hours are 8:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m..

Candidates must have Preschool Lead Teacher certification or have out of state certification that meets MA requirements through the MA Dept. of Early Education & Care. Leader for “Step Up” – Summer Camp

Overseeing Camp Staff and activities for campers with team building activities for socialization, field trips, creative arts play, physical activities, and more. With a total of 37.5hrs per week, the Leader will be required to build weekly schedules for staff. The goal is for the majority of programming to be outdoors. Summer Camp Bus Driver

Action Adventures Day Camp is looking for a part-time Bus Driver for our 2023 Summer Day Camp Program. The Bus Driver is responsible for the safe transport of program participants and staff to and from field trips once or twice a week during the summer camp season (June 26 – Aug 18), primarily on Thursdays and Fridays.

Certified Aquatics Instructors

Berkshire South is seeking certified swim instructors for Red Cross Learn To Swim lessons and private lessons with one or two participants at a time. Instructors will teach students varying in age range from toddler to 14+ in session based lessons that run generally in the afternoons and on Saturdays. Private lesson times vary.
