Our September - December 2010 catalogue is available online now! Get moving this fall and check out all of our fantastic offerings.  We’ve added exciting new programs and classes to our existing schedule that appeal to a wide range of interests.  Berkshire South offers personal enrichment and community connection.  There is so much for you to enjoy, so many things to learn, with a wide variety of opportunities to get healthy, fit and have fun!

Form a Team for Our Trivia Bee!

Berkshire South’s Trivia Bee will be held Thursday, Sept. 23 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Assemble your team for an evening that’s both challenging and fun, and help support Berkshire South’s programs! The cost is $25 per person and $100 per six-person team. Wine and light refreshments are included in the cost. For more information, call 528-2810, ext. 32.

Annual Facility Maintenance

The facility will be closed on Tuesday August 31st and Wednesday, Sept. 1, 2010, for regularly scheduled maintenance.  Sunshine will run as regularly scheduled during this period.  Childcare opportunities for school age children may be available based on need. Please inquire within.

During our annual shutdown period the following additional schedule changes will occur:

·      The Aquatics Center will be completely closed from Monday 8/30-Monday 9/7.

·      Due to repair, the Warm pool will be closed for approximately 1 ½ additional weeks with closure dates from August 30th – September 18th.  

·      There will be no fitness classes throughout the week from 8/30-9/5.

BSRCC reserves the right to close for up to one week per year for maintenance. We appreciate your cooperation and patience during these important times.   

Berkshire South is seeking volunteers to assist with our annual facility maintenance week.  Volunteer jobs include painting, cleaning, organizing, scrubbing, vacuuming, and more! If you want to dig in and put your hands to work, please contact Betty Banker at 413-528-2810 Ext. 32.  

Great Barrington Parks are geared up for summer!

Berkshire South is once again working with the Great Barrington Parks and Recreation department to provide safe summer recreation opportunities at our local parks and lake. 

Starting June 22nd, Supervised Park Hours for the summer are as follows:

Lake Mansfield: Daily 11:30am-4:30pm

Memorial Field Skate Park: Daily 3:00pm-9:00pm

Housatonic Playground: Daily 10:30-4:30

Berkshire South will also be providing Free Swim Lessons to Great Barrington Residents at Lake Mansfield and Skate Board Clinics throughout the summer.  For more information, check out our catalogue or call 528-2810.

OPEN HOUSES ~ CHECK US OUT FOR FREE!

Residents from towns within the region will be provided the opportunity to try out the Center for free on selected Sundays throughout the year. By showing proof of residency on your town’s identified Open House Day; individuals are welcome to the freedoms of the Center. Check out a class, go for a swim, break a sweat on the cross-trainer or go for a tour! Try us on for size and see how we fit into your life!
