Berkshire South is proud to be contracted as the summer recreation provider at the following town parks and lakes.
“Housatonic Park” Alice Bubriski Memorial Playground (Town of Great Barrington)
This outdoor playground is equipped with a jungle gym playscape, geometric dome to climb, lawn to play on, picnic tables, and basketball courts. On rainy days, the park coordinators will offer access to the Housatonic Gym (also known as the Housy Dome). All summer long, we’ll have outdoor activities happening at the park such as wiffle ball, sprinkler games, pickup basketball, and paper airplane making contests. Check back for information on upcoming summer activities for youth!

Lake Mansfield (Town of Great Barrington)
The Lake Mansfield Recreation Area is a beautiful community natural resource in Great Barrington featuring 29 acres of conservation forest, a walking trail loop, lake, and beach. Berkshire South Regional Community Center is pleased to return for another year to provide the beach with trained summer lifeguards, seven days a week. Lake Garfield (Town of Monterey)
Lake Garfield is a hidden gem of Monterey MA. Nestled among serene woodland trees and peaceful residential housing, this sandy beach abuts a 275 acre lake. The lake permits many aquatic recreational activities including kayaking, on boat fishing, and swimming. During the summer season, Berkshire South Regional Community Center staffs the beach with trained lifeguards on duty 7 days a week. This is a public beach and does not require parking passes. However, parking spots in the front are reserved for lake residents. Non residents may park on the grass area north of the beach.
