From My Fair Lady to Camelot, one of Broadway’s most successful teams, Alan Jay Lerner and Frederic Loewe, wrote such songs as “Almost Like Being in Love,” “On the Street Where You Live,” “On a Clear Day,” “I’ve Grown Accustomed to Her Face,” “If Ever I Would Leave You,” and many more for some of our favorite Broadway shows and film musicals.
Fred Astaire: The Composer’s Favorite Singer

Known as “the composer’s favorite singer,” Astaire introduced more great songs than almost any other major performer. Some of the classics he sang in his films include “A Foggy Day,” “Top Hat, White Tie and Tails,” “Cheek to Cheek,” “The Way You Look Tonight,” “A Fine Romance,” “Pick Yourself Up,” and “Nice Work If You Can Get It.” America’s greatest songwriters loved his respect for music and lyrics.
Harold Arlen: The Wizard of Music

The Shining Star Holiday Supplemental program provides an opportunity for community members to purchase gifts for other local people who could use additional support during the holiday season. *All information is kept strictly confidential.

Arts & Crafts Festival

Our annual Fall Arts & Crafts Festival is an opportunity to find unique gifts for the holidays while supporting our local maker economy. Visit the event to eat great food and shop a variety of amazing vendors from our community. This year’s event will be held INDOORS inside our gymnasium.

Berkshire South Regional Community Center is hosting Toasting and Tasting for Berkshire South on Saturday, October 19th. This ticketed fundraiser event features a tasting of libations from local wine merchants, brewers, cideries, and distilleries.

Help keep others warm by donating coats, hats, mittens/gloves, scarves, boots, snow pants and blankets at collection boxes throughout the Southern Berkshires, including BSRCC! Join our campaign to collect and distribute over 1000 coats and additional cold weather items to our community. Please be sure items are clean, mildew/stain free, and zippers are working. The public is welcome to select items for free during the distribution times listed above.

5k Fall Fun Run

Recommended for all ages!
Join us for our 5K Fall Fun Run (3.1 miles) through the scenic Great Barrington airport area. Race proceeds support our TONE (Teen Outreach Nutrition Exercise) Youth Fitness program. There will be a family scavenger hunt with prizes and cider donuts for children. Free T-shirt and cider for 5k participants! There will also be food, music, and raffles.

Put your cornhole skills to the test at Berkshire South’s first-ever Cornhole Tournament! Teams of two will compete in a Double Elimination tournament to win local bragging rights and a $200 cash prize! The competition is open to players ages 18+. No experience necessary! Preregistration is encouraged. Walk-up teams are welcome until 3:00pm. This family-friendly event will have a variety of yard games, food, non-alcoholic beverages, local beer by Big Elm Brewing, music, and raffles! Join us for a day of friendly competition all while supporting a great cause. Proceeds benefit Berkshire South’s youth and community programs.
Please note, no outside alcohol allowed.
*In the event of inclement weather, event will be moved indoors to the gymnasium.

Chase your winter blues away with a live concert at Berkshire South! For the first time in years, Berkshire Ukulele Band and Berkshire Sings are back to perform a selection of fun and familiar tunes (and maybe some not-so-familiar songs) accompanied by an audience sing along or two!
Berkshire Ukulele Band and Berkshire Sings! are supported in part by the Massachusetts Cultural Council and the following local cultural councils: Alford-Egremont, Great Barrington, Lee, Lenox, Monterey, New Marlborough, Otis, Sandisfield, Sheffield, and Stockbridge.

A day out made for moms but fun for everyone! Berkshire South’s All 4 Moms event includes four elements: a family-friendly lunch, family photo shoot mini sessions, a drop-off childcare area where children will make crafts, and a crafts fair full of beautiful things made by local vendors! Come for one or all four parts of this fun-filled event!
